Well of course they make hardware base pieces so that one can make their own custom hardware knobs and pulls. You better believe that when I figured that one out I knew exactly what I was going to attach to those little bases. I have always been obsessed with natural curiosities..especially rocks and fossils. From a very early age I remember my Dad picking up and collecting rocks where ever our travels took us. I know that his fascination was definitely passed down. Now I smile when my little girl brings me a rock (on a daily basis) that she finds and thinks is the most valuable treasure. In fact if she could go to any store with me she would pick the mineral and bead shop. No doubt about it but nature brings about the best inspiration...I am in constant awe of it and its Creator.
To make the above you will need the following:
*Base for custom cabinet knobs, found here
*Epoxy
*Washers (opt.)
*Standard 8-32 screw
*Rocks or your choice or adornment (found my rocks at the Black Mineral Market here locally)
Just follow the directions of the epoxy and glue together. I used the washers because I thought it gave more flat surface space to work with being that the amethyst rock was not completely flat on the back.
I can't wait to show your where my new hardware lands..stay tuned. I am not mixing the two different rocks so now I need to decide what rock will look best with my newly lacquered piece of furniture.
P.S. - Every single morning we get this fantastic rainbow coming from the morning sun when it hits the crystal lamp in the girls room. It is quite the cause for excitement with the kids. Don't you love how kids find everything so magical?

Watch Lady Gaga's New Video - "Edge of Glory"
I kind of love this throwback to the '90s, when every video was just the singer performing in three different locations. A few thoughts:
- If you're gonna sing in three different places for three different cameras, you should at least don three different fabulous outfits (though I don't blame her for wanting to wear that vintage Versace forever and ever).
- The colored smoke is a nice touch.
- I kind of wish she would've added some more dancers in there somewhere as the song reached its climax. Especially Mark from So You Think You Can Dance.
- Really, this video should've just been her and Mark and some smoke dancing around in vintage Versace for five minutes with Clarence Clemons (get well soon!) jamming on the sax.
Otherwise, beautiful. And I will be singing this song for the next several days in my car.

OMG, proud: New York's momentous pride weekend
Best weekend of my life? Likely. As a New Yorker, I was so proud to celebrate our state's victory for marriage equality this weekend, and on gay pride weekend of all weekends. If you weren't in the city, it would be hard to describe the energy that carried through from Friday night to yesterday's parade. But, basically, I was prepared to kiss anyone. So happy!

finials for my cheap lamps
Sometimes I buy cheap lamps at Home Goods or other establishments because they are in my budget and almost look like what I had in mind but there is just something that needs to be tweaked, ya know. Usually it is as simple as just changing the darn finials to give it a more custom look. For inexpensive finials go here....but beware you have to sift through a few finials that are equal to the ugliest Christmas sweater winner...but worth it because $6.00 for an agate finial isn't too shabby.

Spotlight: Johnny Depp's Charity Work

Golden Globe winner, musician (guitar), French winemaker and restaurateur, Johnny Depp is authentically touched by the genuine nature of a child’s request.
Depp made a voice message for a 17-year-old British girl who had been in a coma for five months; parents of the girl asked him to tape a voice message because he was the favorite actor of their daughter and they hoped playing the message everyday would help wake her up. As an advocate for Sophie's Gift, a growing database of celebrity messages aimed at helping coma patients and raising funds for crucial hospital equipment, Depp was touched by the letter and said he would do whatever he could to help.

2011 BET Awards: The Show, The Winners
With another year's edition having come and gone, the 2011 BET Awards were held in Los Angeles, CA on Sunday night (June 26). Taking place at the Shrine Auditorium, the big winner of the night was Chris Brown - who garnered three trophies out of his pack-leading six nominations. Making for quite the awkward situation, there was a mix-up during the announcement of the Viewer's Choice winner - as Tiffany Greene first named Brown as the winner before then saying Drake and Rihanna were the victors. With Drake accepting the trophy, it was later confirmed that Brown was, indeed, the winner of the fan voted accolade

Five Superior Art Deco Emerald Rings
Since this is the month for emerald rings, I decided I’d specifically find some art deco styled rings with emeralds to feast our eyes upon. Let’s get to it. The first ring has an understated elegance about it. At first glance, I thought the emerald wasn’t large enough. But then I liked that it wasn’t overbearing. The second emerald ring I’m presenting here is similar to the first, but has a bit more delicacy to it. Rather than having a solitaire emerald, this third ring has four emerald stones. It’s a lovely vintage cocktail ring. Though it’s faux emerald, it’s got genuine gold and diamonds. If you zoom on the ring, it makes you fall in love with it even more. The details are wonderful. A wonderful vintage piece is found in the fourth ring, which has an entire village of diamonds surrounding (protecting? haha) the beautiful antique emerald showpiece. How-To: Get Selena Gomez' MTV Movie Awards Look
Selena Gomez' makeup looked flawless at the MTV Movie Awards last month. Celebrity makeup artist Karan Mitchell who's responsible for Selena's look tells us how she got her fresh and natural look (which all include CoverGirl make-up).
For the MTV Movie Awards I went with a look that had a soft focus and pretty pink lips.
- I started with Selena's eyes. I selected CoverGirl Shimmering Sands Eye Enhancer 3-kits shadows for her shadow. I used the medium shade of the palette as all over the eye area. I then used the lighted shade on the inside corners and as a highlight under her brow bone.
- I then lined her upper and lower lashline with CoverGirl perfect blend eyeliner in Basic Black. To line the upper lashed I used the LineExact Liquid liner in Very Black and drew a slight wing on the outer corners. I added a few individual lashed and used three coats of CoverGirl NatureLuxe Water Resistant Mousse Mascara in Black.
- For her flawless skin, I used NatureLuxe Silk Foundation in Oak. On her cheeks I applied Simply Ageless Sculpting Blush in Lush Berry under the cheekbone and blended upward.
- I then finished the look with CoverGirl LipPerfection lipcolor in the soft shimmering pink shade Sweetheart and ShineBlast Lip Gloss in Dazzle.

Why it's him:
- His email handle is "Orpheus," AKA the mythological Greek person who went down to Hades to bring his dead wife back.
- His wife is dead.
- He's been trying to "bring her back to life" by hooking up with Beau Soleil ladies.
- Disgruntled Beau Soleil-er named Celine fingered Richmond as the man who talked about drowning her.
Why it's not him:
- Because, well, duh. This show loves a good red herring.
Who else could it be?
- Crazy Aunt Terry - She's a Beau Soleil lady, and so was Rosie. CAT didn't like the competition, so she offed her single white female niece.
- Billionaire Assfedora Tom Drexler - This guy's a frequent patron of Beau Soleil, a noted douchebag, and the owner of the world's skeeviest ceiling pool. Murderer.
- Belko - So overcome with anger that his delicate little flower Rosie was hooking up with dudes on the Internet for some extra coin, he murdered her. If Belko can't have her, no one will!
- Sarah Linden's Ex-Husband - Why is he here all of a sudden? Sounds murdery to me.
- Murderous Fiance - Where has he been lately? Hiding? Murdering other Beau Soleil girls to tempt his fiancee into solving more murders, thus giving him more ammunition to play the role of the wounded, jilted man-friend?
- Sarah Linden's Other Personalities - Would explain so many things about her.
- The Mayor - Killing Rosie and hiding her body in the car of his competitor was his fallback in case any Native American bones were found during the construction of the Waterfront Revitalization Project.
- Gwen - Never underestimate a woman scorned by her boss lover who just wants to date young girls who look like his dead ex-wife.

H&M announced today that their next designer collaboration is none other than legendary fashion brandVersace. The collection will be full of leather and color in exclusive materials and is set to hit stores November 17th. Donatella Versace has also designed a pre-spring collection for H&M which is set to hit online from January 19th, 2012. Here's what she had to say about the collaboration:
