Feels good to do good
It�s nice to know that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie always step up to the plate even though they have a large family and huge commitments.
This time they have come to the aid of folks in the state of Missouri. The power couple donated a whopping US$500,000 to the Community Foundation of the Ozarks to help efforts to rebuild tornado-destroyed Joplin.
"With the devastating loss of 30 percent of the city, the Joplin community faces great challenges ahead. Having spent much of my childhood there, I know these people to be hardworking, humble and especially resilient," Brad Pitt said in a story posted on the foundation�s website. Ange added: "Last year, 42 million people worldwide were displaced by natural disasters. So often these disasters seem far away, but now the need is for thousands of people displaced right here at home. Our hearts go out to the families in Joplin who have lost so much."
The tornado ripped through Joplin on 22 May, destroying more than 8,000 homes. Today, the death toll is 151, making it the seventh deadliest tornado in U.S. history.
