It's actually quite interesting that a movie like Saving Private Perez is getting released so close to the 9/11 anniversary. Chock full of political undertones, it offers a very unique Mexican perspective of the Iraq war. But more importantly, it accentuates the universal notions of love, friendship, and familial relations.
