Jackie Chan Reveals Charity Song Lyrics For Japan

Jackie Chan has revealed the lyrics to the new charity song he has recorded with a group of stars in Hong Kong to benefit the people of Japan.

The action star will be headlining a special celebrity charity concert for Japan in Hong Kong on April 1, joining over 100 performers at Victoria Park.

“We as members of the entertainment industry wish to bring hope and support to the people of Japan,” said Chan. “Whenever China has a disaster, it was easy for us to send in planes and supplies to the affected area, but with the Japan earthquake, it was difficult because no transport was going in and out of the disaster areas.”

The new song is called Succumb Not To Sorrow and is based on an old Japanese poem by Miyazawa Kenji. The lyrics are as follows:

when there’s drought, shedding tears of sympathy
